Bad experience @ Dhola-ri-dhani

Boy I finally dared to visit this place over the weekend. This place is supposed to give you a feel of authentic Rajasthani village in Hyderabad but it looked like a crappy dhaba from outside and I felt like returning home without going in. Having driven so far, I decided to give it a shot hoping it won’t be that bad after all. I paid them per person Rs 100 for the entrance & Rs 162 for dinner . It was 5pm and was very crowded, there was a small toy train running on kerosene and a short camel ride and a tiny swimming pool with boats (yeah..they call it boating). We were told to stop by after 20min to get our welcome drink L. It was dirty with litter all over, plastic glasses, bottles and very crowded – as if I was on a dirty railway station waiting for train – I mean waiting for something to happen. Within 15min I realized I was taken for a ride and felt very stupid. We immediately went to the entrance/ticket counter and demanded our money back. Initially he tried to pacify me but tried to persuade me that entertainment programs would start but I didn’t budge and after heated argument they finally returned all of my money…phew! Getting out of that place was a great relief and walk on tank bund with cool breeze coming from Hussainsagar was the icing on the cake J

  1. chavakiran says:

    yep,

This is what one feels there.

    But,

I went there for only Lunch once and it was good Lunch for a telugu guy who don’t know of Rajastani stuff ;)

When I visited there are hardly 20 people in it, may be I am lucky.

ps: It is not a week end and around two - three years back, may be lot of things changed.
